Statue fragment from the face, showing eye and tear-line from one of the lion-headed statues of Mut-Sekhmet from the Luxor/Karnak complex. These statues are very well known, as Amenhotep lll commissioned 365 of the seated types alone, and there are many standing figures as well. They show difference in the quality of the workmanship, but this fragment is from the finest. The largest collection of these outside Egypt is in British Museum.
