Ushebtis New Kingdom (3)

Three New Kingdom Ushebtis from the Same Tomb. Three front-molded clay ushebtis in lightly fired Nile silt fabric from the same mold/tomb, all with knife trimmed backs. New Kingdom, 19th-20th Dynasty. Reputedly from Thebes. All broken; A: feet missing, B: broken away below abdomen, C: bust only remaining. Worn surfaces. 1. A well molded ushebti with worn facial features, striated lappet wig and a detailed broad-collar. The arms are crossed over the breast and the hands hold a pair of hoes in sunk relief. Below the arms, the remains of six lines of worn hieroglyphs are visible. H: 14.5 cm. 2. Only two lines remaining on this figure, however on the reverse, there is a basket and a water jar with suspension cords roughly hand carved into the clay prior to firing. H: 9.9 cm. 3. Bust only remaining. H: 6 cm. From a US coll. Acquired in 2001.
