An inscribed clay ushebti for a chantress of Amun 20th dynasty

An Inscribed Clay Ushebti for a Chantress of Amun. An mummiform ushebti in Nile silt pottery fired at a very low temperature if at all. Flat-backed type with very fine molded detail to the front surface including facial features, hands, feet (!!), implements and a framed vertical inscription. The hieroglyphic inscription in raised relief runs down the front of the figure and reads: ‘The Osiris, the Lady of the House, the Chantress of …’- the rest is worn away. Poorly repaired fractures at ankles and toes, nose abraded and some weathering to lower portion, otherwise a very interesting example of the type. Late New Kingdom, 20th Dynasty. H: 10 cm. Acquired at Monark Antiques, Glastonbury in 1979.
