Ushebti of lahmes Late Period

A Late Period Faience Ushebti of Iahmes. A mummiform ushebti for an important man in light green faience of typical Late Period type with integral base, beard etc. Fine details to the face, hands and implements in the molded detail. An incised inscription in hieroglyphs runs on multiple horizontal lines from right to left within a frame running down the front of the figure: ‘Illuminate the Osiris, the Royal Acquaintance, the Priest of Ptah, the Master of Secrets of the House of Isis, Iah-mes, justified’. Intact and in very good condition. Probably from Saqqara. Late Period. H: 12.6 cm. Provenance:From a Swedish coll. purchased at Stockholms Auktionsverk in the early 1990s. Acquired for present collection in 2008. (M1569) A larger ushebti from the same individual was sold at Christie’s South Kensington, 14 April 2011, Sale 6060, Lot 142 and another in 2004 at Bonhams Antiquities Auction 10763, lot 25.
