Ushebti of Ankhhemtep Late Period

A Late Period Faience Ushebti of Ankhhemtep. A well proportioned mummiform ushebti for an important man in light green faience of typical Late Period type with integral base, beard etc. Fine details to the face, hands and implements in the molded detail. An incised inscription in hieroglyphs runs down the front of the figure within a frame: ‘The Osiris, the General [?], Ankh-hem-tep [?] born of Neith-[?]’. Further research will likely bring clarity in the name and title. Intact and in good condition. Late Period, 27-30 Dynasty. H: 10.2 cm. Provenance:From a Swedish coll. originally purchased at Stockholms Auktionsverk in the early 1990s. Acquired for present collection in 2008.
