A blue painted and inscribed clay ushebti 21-22 dynasty

A Blue Painted & Inscribed Clay Ushebti. A mummiform ushebti of the flat-backed type with molded features to front. The material is unfired Nile silt fabric with intact organic inclusions (see toe and back side). The entire figure is painted blue over gesso in simulation of faience and has painted details in black to the eyes (worn), fillet, basket, hoes and inscription. The vertical which runs down the front of the figure is somewhat difficult to read: ‘The Osiris A…-ir, born of Mut’; with some research, this name should become clear.
