Braided Hair from Wig and a Faience Wiglet. 1. A braided wiglet of dark brown human hair which was either part of a wig, or bound in to natural hair to give it more body (in which case missing binding on one end). Very well preserved. Reputedly New Kingdom.(M1402) 2. A slender conical inlay in bright purple-blue faience depicting a wiglet of hair from a composite statue or coffin. Intact, L: 25 mm. New Kingdom, 19th-20th Dynasty. Similar examples have been found in the Valley of the Kings. C. Belton, England 1995.
