A large Acheulean scraper
A Large Acheulean Scraper (M1219) A very large Paleolithic scraper, in light grayish-brown flint under a beautiful heavy brown desert patina. Unusual tool with two concave scraper edges, probably for removing the meat off large bones. Acheulean industry. H: 8.9, W: 11.6, D: 3.7 cm. Provenance: Collected or purchased by Larissa Bjuggren in the 1960s. Provenance unknown (reputedly from an old Egyptian colletion). An exhibition quality piece.
