A large Acheulan tool
A Large Acheulean Tool (M1220). A fine Paleolithic tool, perhaps a blade or an axe, in light grayish-brown flint under a beautiful heavy chestnut brown desert patina. Unusual tool. Minor chips revealing original color. Acheulean industry. L: 12.3, W: 7.1, D: 3,6 cm. Provenance: Collected or purchased by Larissa Bjuggren in the 1960s. Provenance unknown (reputedly from an old Egyptian colletion). An exhibition quality piece.
