A Group of Paleolithic to Mesolithic Tools 1. (M366) Handaxe knapped from a naturally polished oval stone. One side of the stone is left uncut. A nice and intact small example. Intact, L: 52 mm. Upper Paleolithic. A good example of the very oldest type of tool found in the Nile valley. Astarte Gallery, London 1994. 2 (M1221) Spearhead in light brown flint with darker brown patina. Tip broken. L: 13 cm. Lower Paleolithic. L. Bjuggren coll. 3. Two drills; a larger example (M780) in yellowish-brown flint, intact, 70 mm. and another smaller example in a dark volcanic rock – probably from Lower Nubia. Lower Paleolithic to Mesolithic. 4. (M369-M376) A group of eight tools in a dark volcanic rock, including handaxes, blades and scrapers. Lower Paleolithic to Mesolithic. Found above the original position of Abu Simbel.
