H 16,5 cm Fired Nile silt fabric Cracked and missing most of rim Purchased by Larissa Bjuggren in the 1960s to 70s from the State antiquities dealer near the Luxor Temple. Acquired in 2001 A tall and slender black-topped beaker or cup, tapering toward the flat base and with an everted rim. Polished red and black external surface showing burnishing marks. The internal surface shows signs of thumbing as predynastic vessels were hand-made. Much of the rim is chipped and there is a stable crack down one side, but still a good example of the type.
