Votive Faience Cups of Horemheb and Ramses II. 1. A royal votive cup fragment in purple faience with inscription in black. The inscription reads Djeser-Kheperu-Re [Horemheb] – Beloved of Sokar. Rim sherd with slightly less than one half of the vessel remaining; no trace of the foot. Excellent condition. New Kingdom, late 18th Dynasty. 2. A royal votive cup fragment in purple faience with inscription in black. The inscription reads The Lord of Appearances, Ramses Mery-Amun [Ramses II] – Lord of the Two Lands, User-Maat-Re Setep-en-Re. Rim sherd with slightly less than one third of the vessel remaining. Inscription slightly worn. New Kingdom, 19th Dynasty. Authentic examples of such votive cups with royal names are almost always fragmentary. Any objects with Royal names, especially from the New Kingdom are very rare and highly sought after.
