Votive Faience Cups of Ramses II and Ramses III. 1. A royal votive offering cup fragment in purple faience with inscription in black. The inscription reads Ramses Mery-Amun [Ramses II] – Lord of Appearances, User-Maat-Re Setep-en-Re – Beloved of Ptah-Sokar. This is a very rare inscription variant. Roughly half of the vessel remaining from rim to base. Some surface weathering. Inscription slightly worn. New Kingdom, 19th Dynasty. 2. A royal votive offering cup fragment in blue faience with inscription in black. The inscription reads User-Maat-Re Mery-Amun [Ramses III] – Beloved of Osiris, Lord of Ro-Setau [Giza] …. Lower three quarters of the vessel remaining. Excellent condition. Inscription slightly worn. New Kingdom, 20th Dynasty. Authentic examples of such votive cups with royal names are almost always fragmentary. Any objects with Royal names, especially from the New Kingdom are very rare and highly sought after.
