Collection of 10 autograph letters signed by the French physicians, mostly 18th- and 19th-century, amongst others Paul Portal, Antoine Petit and Jean Astruc. 11 items.Consists of the following:Antoine Petit (1722-94, French physician at Orleans, author of Chirugical Anatomy), ALS, 1 page in 8vo, dated Paris February 24, 1784 (some spots).Paul Portal (1630-1730, French gynecologist), ALS, 2 pages in 8vo, with address page, dated January 19, 1671, traces of red seals (folds, some spotting).Pierre Simon Rouhault (French physician, active about 1720-43), ALS, 3 pages in 8vo, dated Turin, July 1729 (some minor spotting).Pierre Salomon Ségalas d'Etchépare (1792-1875, French physician and urologist, one of the "co-inventors" of endoscopy), ALS, 2 pages in 8vo, address page (folds, some minor tears and spotting, traces of seal).
